What is Self Care?

What does self-care mean to you? Is it a massage, a quiet house, a gym routine? No matter how you practice self-care know that it is important for anyone who wants to stay sane! My husband works crazy shifts and with me being in school full time sometimes life can get crazy. I feel like everyone can relate to that… right? Keeping the babies happy and fed, plus the house clean, the husband happy, and staying on top of my school work it is hard sometimes to realize that I need to have a self-care routine just like you would a skincare routine. Find something you love or want to try, something you know you are going to enjoy

I found a love for Crossfit! Here in Jacksonville, FL there are several gyms however I found the best (in my opinion)! I found not just a gym but a community. They are there to share my struggles and celebrate my victories. 

We all come from different paths and are going through different stages of life. Yet we have a passion to better ourselves. We want to put time into us. 

There is something powerful about being able to walk into a room full of people and know that I am not being judged but I am being celebrated for being me. 

The gym may not be your thing and THAT IS OK! It may be doing something to make your life easier. I have noticed that when I get to wake up in the morning and enjoy my first cup of coffee to myself it sets the pace for my day. So in order to allow myself time to do that I have started making the kids lunches and lay out their clothes the night before. Doing this gives me easily an extra 20-30 minutes in the morning. Plenty of time to enjoy my coffee and to get the kids mornings started on the right foot also.

 

 I challenge you to come up with something that you can add to your routine that is for YOU. Something that YOU want to do or something that will make your life a little easier.
